Images 2 and 3 Responses- The Last Girl
These photos change my interpretation because they seem more innocent now. Photo 1 seemed like it had a big meaning behind it, but these just show a simple billboard design of a girl. Image 2 shows the image being installed and worked on, and 3 shows the final image. To describe the image, it is basically just a little girl that is very pale, and seems to have crusted lips. She looks surprised, or just neutral. The size of the photo shows the emotion in the girl. By zooming in, the photographer is trying to show how the girl is feeling, and trying to really emphasize her facial expression. This is artwork that is pieced together, it is not all one piece. I can tell because if you zoom in you can see the lines where there are different pieces. Also, there is no way the photographer could've done this in one full piece, it is too large. Im guessing this photo is located in an urban area, based on the surroundings i can see in the picture. The kind of people that will see it is most likely people who will travel to see this piece, or everyday people who go pass this wall everyday. The intended audience seems to be mostly young adults and adults. People younger than that will probably not understand why there is a blown up photo of a young girl, but adults can observe and understand the meaning behind it. The girl's expression is clearly not happy, she seems to be either distressed or focusing on something very closely. The title of this photo "The Last Girl" suggests that maybe this girl has been abandoned, or left behind. Based on her expression, it would make sense if the girl is perhaps the "last one" in her kind or family, and she is sad about that happening.
