Semester 1 Reflection
Part 1(all together)
My quality of work in the recent semester i thought was pretty good. Although sometimes i had trouble capturing the exact subject of the assignment, i still managed to photograph something. Also, sometimes my pictures could be blurry or not in focus. I always completed my work on time and fulfilled the correct amount of photos taken. My effort in the semester was 50/50. Sometimes i would forget to shoot photos for the next assignment at home, and that did delay my project progression. I looked for good lighting and open areas around my house to shoot the objects for the photograph. I usually shot around 25 pictures each time. I started with an idea that would pop up in my head for the picture, then i would always try to get the shot i was looking for, not only for this class, but also so i could see how cool it looked for myself. My participation i think was okay. I do tend to talk a lot and get off task, but i always manage to get my work turned in on time. I always look what i have to complete in the class period, then set aside time to complete it. I never miss school or class periods that often because i hate making up work and falling behind. I think i could improve on my creativity level and how much i think outside of the box. I tend to do research on the subject of the assignment, then see how other people did it, then sort of get ideas off of them rather than get them from my own mind. I want to be able to think of amazing ideas and opportunities for myself, and not have to rely on the internet. I want to have a compelling and strong message through my photographs, or a message that you can clearly get from just looking at it. My photoshop skills also contribute to that concept, and i do think that my effort and skill level of photoshop is what ties my project all together. In this upcoming second semester i would like to see myself having a somewhat "impossible" idea for a photo, and getting as close as i can to capturing it. I also want to use photoshop a lot to enhance and add to the perception of my photograph. This is one of the few classes i actually enjoy so i will actively try to put in as much effort as possible.
Part 2
I would like to do an assignment that has an illusion, or tricks the eye into seeing one thing but also another. I have no idea how i could capture that, but i bet you could give us pointers or ideas on how to capture multiple things in one photo. I've always thought the tricking the eye pictures were cool, and it would be a good experience to create that myself and edit it also.
